Nucleo Agency

Private label supplements, made in Italy.

Private label generally means an existing or manufacturer-developed formulation, commercialised under your brand — subject to the manufacturer's terms, regulatory requirements and the requirements of your target market. It is the fastest route to a product on shelf, and the one where you own least.

What you are buying, and what you are not

You are buying the right to sell an existing formulation under your name, on the manufacturer's terms. You are generally not buying the formula, exclusivity over it, or the ability to change it freely. Some manufacturers will adapt a base formulation; many will not below a certain volume. Establishing which, early, avoids discovering it after the packaging is designed.

Where it fits, and where it does not

Private label suits a buyer who wants to be selling sooner, at lower minimums, with a formulation that is close enough. It does not suit a buyer whose product concept is the differentiator — that is a contract manufacturing brief, with the volumes and timelines that come with it.

What the brief needs

What makes this quotable.

Blanks are fine — an open question is usually the starting point. These are simply what a manufacturer needs before it can price anything.

  1. 01Category and format
  2. 02Target market
  3. 03Indicative first-order volume
  4. 04Packaging and branding requirements
  5. 05Whether you need any adaptation to the base formulation

Common questions

Does Nucleo own any formulations?

No. We do not own, hold or license formulations. Formulations belong to the manufacturers, and the terms on which you may commercialise one are theirs to set.

Can you guarantee my product will be approved in my market?

No, and be wary of anyone who says otherwise. Regulatory approval depends on the product, the claims and the destination market. That responsibility sits with you and the manufacturer.

What MOQ should I expect?

It varies by format, packaging and manufacturer. Private label minimums are usually lower than custom manufacturing, which is a large part of why buyers choose it. We establish the real figure for your shortlist rather than quoting a general one.

Tell us what you need sourced.

One brief is enough to start. We read it before we reply.
